A Perspective (Opinion)

taken from the internet ………

The annual rainbow family gathering is a solemn event that is shared by many people around the world and serves as a focused connection that, together in a spiritual fellowship, we are united, in peace. A moment in time where genuine prayers are offered in the hope that there be peace and harmony within every heart. A celebration of individual choosing that is enjoyed in an open access remote national forest far removed from likely trespass against anyone’s liberty or their right to be at ease in domicile or community.

With all due respect for the indiginous tribes, the Rainbow Family of Living Light only gathers on National Forest Service stewarded lands, lands open to the public and enjoyed by people from all over the world. The rainbow family would never gather uninvited onto reservation, private or restricted lands as doing so would change the current legal status under which such peaceful assemblies are held. Rights that are being exercised in a very peaceful manner on public land.

There is a clear documented history of these free and non-commercial public gathering events being beneficial to local communities along with official acknowledgement and accolades from the National Forest Service for going well beyond normal site rehabilitation when the gatherings are over. Most sites recover within the next season because of the care and attention given to the land during and after a gathering.

There are no leaders in the rainbow family and so, there are no representatives to speak for the whole. Rainbow is a participatory democracy mixed with tribal anarchy and common human sense; things get done because individual people are the driving energy behind the gatherings. They have chosen to freely associate, exercising the right to peaceful assembly, practice or explore a religious or engage in spiritual fellowship and enjoy the liberty to speak as they will – redress the government in an open public forum if desired. People also like camping deep in the woods and truely appreciate the various cultures and people that come to share in the experience.

I want to welcome you to experience these gatherings if you should be able to come and participate in something special and unique. It is no great mystery event  intended for illegal activity nor an opportunity to disrespect nature through abusive acts of vandalism, in fact it is quite the opposite and within the gatherings you will find people that are good natured, sharing and easy to become friends with. The gatherings are completely free and held on public land that is also no cost, we all enjoy the access and use of our common lands.

Come offer a prayer for world peace.

——- Political Side ——-

We the People? The Preamble declares who is enacting this Constitution—the people of “the United States.” The document is the collective enactment of all U.S. citizens. The Constitution is “owned” (so to speak) by the people, not by the government or any branch thereof.

First Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Not an illegal incident nor an unsanctioned event. A rainbow gathering is the will of the people inspired to gather in fellowship of good tidings without need for organization or leadership of any entity. Intentionally held on common public land so that everyone enjoys the very same opportunity to participate. Silent introspect with a vision of world peace through meditative prayers. Real hugs infused with love and solidarity.  …………….

When were you going to use all that freedom and liberty if not the 4th of July? Interdependence.
